Chupek, 91, Akron, Ohio, passed away Aug. 23, 2005. Mr. Chupek moved to Akron from Somerset in 1941. Born Aug. 17, 1914. Preceded in death by his wife, Elizabeth in 1998, and brothers, Andrew, Michael and George. He is survived by his daughter, Patricia (Burt) Anslyn, Fort Lauderdale, Fla.; sons, Bernie Sr. and Nancy, Akron, Ohio; John Jr. and Brenda, Los Angeles; Thomas and Noreen, Orlando, Fla.; sisters, Helen Reffner, Somerset; and Margaret Gack, Johnstown; 10 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren. He owned and operated the J.C. Refrigeration Co. since 1947. John was a member of St. Paul's Catholic Church. He loved golf, bowling, playing cards and was a well-known handyman. Calling hours are 4 to 7 p.m. Friday at the Dunn-Quigley, Ciriello & Carr Funeral Home, 811 Grant St., Akron, Ohio, where a funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday. Interment at Holy Cross Cemetery. The family suggests memorials to St. Paul's Catholic Church. (Akron, 330-253-8121.)
