Chynoweth Jr., 71, of South Main St., Davidsville, died Dec. 21, 1995, at Memorial Medical Center, Johnstown. Born Feb. 2, 1924, in Hysota, son of James R., and Ethel H. (Boyts) Chynoweth Sr. Preceded in death by parents and uncle Frank. Survived by wife, Patricia O'Connor, and these children: James P. of Bensalem; Jeffrey "Jed," married to Margaret Bettle, Davidsville RD 1; Timothy P. of New Park; Kevin J., Hooversville RD 1; Patricia K., wife of Gerald Gathers of Landsdale. Seven grandchildren: Jason Johns, Kathey, Kristopher, Meghan, Emily, Erin and Zoe. Brother of Sally Joe Wilson, Fredericksburg, Va., and dear friend Philip Randall. Member of St. Andrew's Catholic Church. Death breaks marriage union of 48 years. Retired from A&P and Giant Eagle as meat department manager, I.C.S. sales representative, national auxiliary president to the National League of Post Masters, past president of Somerset County Democratic Club, Pee Wee football coach for St. Andrew's, served with the U.S. Navy during WWII, a graduate of Conemaugh Township High School class of 1942 where he served as vice president of the class, an avid gardener, took time to care for others in the community. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday and 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday at the George E. Mason Funeral Home, Inc. Mass of Christian Burial 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Andrew's. Father Henry L. Joly. Wake service 8 p.m. Saturday followed by rosary. Interment, O'Connor Cemetery. Those who wish may donate to the athletic department of St. Andrew's.
