He was born April 22, 1928, to the late Espy and Nellie (Flick) Clark in Gray. Surviving are his wife, Barbara (Deter) Clark, Van Buren, Ohio; sons, Mark Clark, Houston, Texas, and Kevin Clark, Napoleon, Ohio; and daughter, Tonya (Jeffery) Stotler, Paw Paw, W.Va. Also surviving are his brothers, Gene Clark, California, and Max (Fran) Clark, Columbus, Ohio; sisters, Vivian (William) Francis, Shirley (Darrell) Nissen, both of Phoenix, Ariz., and Lois (Donald) Meese, Somerset; two grandchildren and one great-grandchild. John graduated from Somerset High School in Somerset and worked for the Agway Farmers Co-op in Somerset for 27 years. He then moved to Ohio, where he worked construction until he retired. He enjoyed working outside in the garden and taking care of the lawn. Visitation will be held from 1 to 5 p.m. Sunday at the Smith-Crates Funeral Home, North Baltimore, Ohio, and for one hour prior to the service, 10 to 11 a.m., at the church. Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at St. Luke's Lutheran Church, 215 N. Second St., North Baltimore. The Rev. Ralph Mineo officiating. Burial will be in Bethel Cemetery, Portage Township, Ohio. Memorial contributions can be made in memory of John to St. Luke's Lutheran Church or to the American Red Cross.
