    Clarence James Clay, 88, Somerset, died Feb. 3, 2008, at The Patriot. Born March 11,
  1919, in Milford Township,  the son of Ephriam W. and Lulu (Thomas) Clay. Preceded in 
  death by parents; wife, the former Velma Fae (Shmucker), who  died Aug. 3, 2007;
  granddaughter, Kathleen Clay; a great- granddaughter; brothers, Charles, Harry, Glenn,
  Clyde, Harold and Wilbur Clay; and sisters, DeElda and Nellie Clay. Survived by children,
  Marlin Clay, married to the former Carol Kincaid, Mars; Mrs. John (Marsha) Ream,
  Somerset;  Mrs. Edward (Nancy) Custer, Somerset; Mrs. Bernard (Bonnie) Williams,
  Kingsport, Tenn.; Mrs. Telford (Donna) Hoover, Confluence; and Sue Ann Peterson and Carl
  Peterson, Somerset; grandchildren, Michael Clay and wife, Shellee,  Adam Ream and wife,
  Shelly, Joshua, Noah, Kiara and  Joel Ream; Jordan and Justice Custer; Christopher
  Cook,  Jeremy Cook and wife, Renee; Mrs. Joseph (Stephanie) Hunt, Wendy and Scott Hoover,
  Mrs. Scott (Elisha) Fazenbaker;  and 11 great-grandchildren. A graduate of Rockwood High 
  School, he worked for the Farm Bureau and Agway companies  until his retirement with over
  40 years of service. Also a member of Milford United Methodist Church. He also enjoyed
  gardening,  rebuilding cars and farming. Friends received from 2 to 4 and  7 to 9 p.m.
  Wednesday at Hauger-Zeigler Funeral Home, Somerset, and one hour prior to the service,
  which will be conducted 10 a.m. Thursday at Milford United Methodist Church, Rockwood.
  The Rev. Mark Ongley officiating. Interment, Somerset County Memorial Park. Memorial
  contributions may be given to Milford UMC, 621 Broadway St., Rockwood, PA 15557.
