Born Oct. 19, 1915 in Geiger, Somerset Township, a son of Benjamin C. and Margaret E. (Ross) Claycomb. Preceded in death by parents; wife Maude (Miller) Claycomb who died Jan. 31, 1998; brothers, William H. and Galen Claycomb; and sisters, Marie Kimmel, Elta, Evelyn and Mary Claycomb. Survived by children, Anita Gale, wife of Dr. Takeshi Uchisaka of Osaka, Japan, Brian C. Claycomb and wife Susan of Jupiter, Fla., and Leslie A. Claycomb, wife of Jeffrey Fowley of Marblehead, Mass.; six grandchildren, Kaori, Makio and Kenji Uchisaka, Molly Claycomb, Mrs. Ryan (Suzanne) Brown and Katherine Fowley. Member of Christ Community of Faith Church of Somerset and Lodge 358 F&A.M. A 1932 graduate of Somerset Township High School. World War II veteran of U.S. Army. Retired co-owner with his wife of Bittner's Greenhouse. Friends received from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at Hauger-Zeigler Funeral Home. Service will be conducted at 1 p.m. Saturday at Christ Community of Faith Church, Somerset, with Rev. George W. Walton officiating. Interment Casebeer Cemetery.
