Cleeves was a native of Somerset and worked in Pittsburgh. He was a graduate of the University of Pittsburgh School of Engineering; retired employee of the Dravo Corp. He was a member of Duke Memorial United Methodist Church and the church's H.E. Spence Bible Class. A memorial service was conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday in Duke Memorial United Methodist Church by the Rev. W. Eric Carson. He was preceded in death by his wife, Helen Walker Cleeves, a native of Somerset. Cleeves is survived by a daughter, Ms. Barbara Lydick of La Costa, Calif.; a son, Edward D. Cleeves of Olympia, Wash.; a sister, Ms. Mary Dawson of Marion, Mass.; a brother, George A. Cleeves of Durham; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
