Clifton, 69, of Wellersburg Road, Mount Savage RD 1, Maryland, died November 26, 1983 at Memorial Hospital. Born in Imboden, Va., July 6, 1914, he was a son of the late Walter Clifton and Ida (Tate) Clifton. He was a retired rubber worker at the Kelly - Springfield Tire Company plant. He served in the Army in World War II and was a member of Henry Hart Post 1411, Veterans of Foreign Wars, and the Mount Savage Senior Citizens. Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Ruth Marie (Witt) Clifton; one son, Cecil Ernest Clifton, Chisholm, Minn.; four daughters, Mrs. Catherine Marie Getson, Mount Savage RD 1; Mrs. Christine Mardel Johnson, Homewood Addition; Mrs. Susan Ellen Mellott, Mount Savage RD 1; and Miss Judy Marie Clifton, at home; three sisters, Mrs. Althea Milewee, Jacksonville, Fla.; Mrs. Isabel Balcom, San Angelo, Tex.; Mrs. Marie Hall, Dayton, Ohio; and nine grandchildren. Friends were received at the Harvey H. Zeigler Funeral Home, Hyndman, where services were conducted by the Rev. Harold W. Crabtree officiating. Interment was in Rest Lawn Memorial Gardens.
