  JOHN W. CLOSE
  
    John W. Close, 90, of Confluence, died Nov. 19 in Uniontown Hospital. He
  was born June 1, 1882, in Somerfield, a son of Samuel and Matilda Silbaugh
  Close.
    Surviving are these children: George, South Bend, Ind.; Mrs. Helen
  Rosenberger, Adah; Darrell, Markleysburg RD; and Mrs. Mary Enso,
  Confluence, and by 11 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and a number of
  nieces and nephews.
    He was preceded in death by his wife, the former Mary Margaret Crawford;
  a daughter, Millie; two sons, Samuel and Scott.
    He was a member of Confluence United Methodist Church.
    Friends are being received in the Humbert Funeral Home, where services
  will be conducted Nov. 22 at 1:30 p.m., the Rev. Arthur Gotjen and the Rev.
  Richard McClintock officiating.  Interment in the Johnson Chapel Cemetery.
