  NELLIE A. CLOSE
  
    Nellie A. Close, 75, died Thursday, Oct. 31, 1985, at Memorial Hospital,
  Cumberland, Md.
    Born in Corriganville, Md., Dec. 12, 1909, she was a daughter of the late
  Jacob Shroyer and Rose (Clites) Shroyer.
    She was a member of the Ellerslie United Methodist Church and the
  church's Women's Bible Class and the United Methodist Women.  She also was
  a member of the Hyndman Senior Citizens.
    She had resided in Ellerslie since 1973, having moved here from Ellwood
  City, where she had lived 11 years.
    Surviving are her husband, Clifton H. Close; two sons: the Rev. Robert L.
  Close, New Cumberland, Pa., and Charles R. Close, Hyndman; two daughters:
  Mrs. Betty Louise Shaffer and Mrs. Peggy Ann Emerick, both of Ellerslie;
  three brothers: Harvey Shroyer and James Shroyer, both of Fairhope; and
  Robert Shroyer, Baltimore, Md.; seven sisters: Mrs. Lillian Klavuhn,
  Cumberland, Md.; Mrs. Goldie Emerick, Hyndman RD 1; Mrs. Edna Helmstetter,
  Cash Valley Road, LaVale, Md.; Mrs. Rosella Davey, Ellerslie; Mrs. Fairy
  Starkey, Akron, Ohio; Mrs. Ruth Shoemaker, Fairhope; Mrs. Mattie Riall,
  Salisbury, Md.; 11 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
    Friends were received at the Harvey H. Zeigler Funeral Home, Hyndman.
    Services were conducted at the Ellerslie United Methodist Church Monday
  at 1 p.m. with the Rev. Dennis E. Dorsch officiating.  Interment, Palo Alto
  Cemetery.
    Grandsons served as pallbearers.
