  COATES
  
  Mrs. Mildred P. Coates, 57, of Manns Choice, died April 15, 1982, at her
  home.  Born Dec. 30, 1924, in Bedford County, daughter of Blaine and Mary
  Gordon.  Preceded in death by husband Richard E. in 1950, son Richard in
  1953, one brother and one sister.  Survived by these children: Carol L.,
  wife of David Schilling, Robert A., married to former Betty Lafferty, both
  of Hyndman; four grandchildren; and these brothers and sisters: Mrs.
  Caroline Newman, Mrs. Jestine Newman, Mrs. Sarah Smith, all of Central
  City; Gerald Gordon of Florida; Clay Hammer, Bedford RD 1; Mrs. Shirley May
  of York; and Donald Custer, Ohio.  Associate member VFW Post 7527 of Bedford
  and the New Baltimore Sportsmen's Club.  Friends received 2-4 and 7-9 p.m.
  Saturday at MickleGeisel Funeral Home, Schellsburg, where service will be
  held 2 p.m. Sunday.  Interment, Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Manns Choice.
