Daughter of Ella and Earl Bittner and wife of Harlan M. Cobert, Rae was born in Somerset on April 4, 1933. She is survived by her father, Earl Bittner; sister, Marcia Herman and husband, Chris and nephew, Brandon; brother, Robert Bittner and wife, Roni and daughter, Nika; nieces, Georgia Ann and Denise; as well as other nieces and nephews; husband, Harlan; son, Harlan Ronald; daughters, Susan Lubold and husband, David; Lori Kiley and husband, Thomas; Lisa Bache and husband, Bryan; grandsons, Joshua, Christopher, Morgan, Jace and Jordan; granddaughters, Dawn, Cindy and Suzie; and several great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her mother, Ella Bittner; and her sister, Donna Lichty. Rae moved to Woodstock in 2002 after 26 years residing in Nokesville, Va. Rae's life was one of service to her family And community. From U.S. government worker to storekeeper to humane officer to her favorite service as a homemaker, Rae brought love and laughter to all who knew her. Family will receive friends from 1 to 2 p.m. Monday at Dellinger's Funeral Home in Woodstock, where a memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Monday. The family requests that in lieu of flowers that a donation is made in her memory to the animal shelter or the Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (SPCA) of your choice. Rae's smile and laughter will be missed but she will always be remembered by those who knew and loved her. We love you Rae.
