All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/pa/somerset/ ________________________________________________ IDA CORA COCHRANE Mrs. Ida Cora Cochrane, born in Salisbury, August 19, 1865, died at her home in Akron, Ohio, Sept. 4, 1943, at the age of 78 years and 15 days. She had been in poor health for several months. Her death was caused by coronary thrombosis. Mrs. Cochrane lived most of her life in her native town, where she grew to womanhood. She was the eldest daughter of Adam and Caroline Hartline Fogle. Her husband, William Cochrane, died in August, 1937. She is survived by nine children, 46 grandchildren, and 34 great-grandchildren, one brother and one sister. Her children are Mrs. Emma Younkin, Mary, wife of Ernest Agee; Laverne, wife of O.D. Carter; and Earle, all of Akron; Eva, wife of Henry Diehl, of West Salisbury; George of Six Mile Run; John of Mather, Allen of Fairmont City and Clarence of Leckrone, Pa. The surviving brother and sister are Harvey F. Fogle and Mrs. Nelle Bender of Akron. Mrs. Cochrane was proud of the fact that 11 of her grandchildren are in the armed service of the United States. Her body was prepared for burial by an Akron mortician, and shipped to Meyersdale, from where Stanley M. Thomas, mortician, brought it to his place of business in Salisbury, and on Tuesday afternoon removed it to the home of Mrs. Cochrane's son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Henry Diehl, in West Salisbury. Funeral services were conducted at 3 p.m., Wednesday, in the Salisbury Methodist Church, by Rev. J. B. Warman. Interment was in the Salisbury I.O.O.F. Cemetery, under the direction of Mortician Stanley M. Thomas. Meyersdale Republican, September 9, 1943
