Cochrane died suddenly at his home in West Salisbury Saturday night, November 26, of coronary stenosis. He has lived with his brother, James, for a number of years and after he retired on Saturday evening, his brother noticed that something appeared to be wrong, and upon examination Mr. Cochrane was found to have passed away. He had been around as usual during the day and had not mentioned that he felt ill at all. Mr. Cochrane was born in Elk Lick Township, October 26, 1875, son of Christina (Penman) and Robert Cochrane. He was one month past his 74th birthday. He is survived by one son, Robert Cochrane, and one daughter, Mrs. Pauline Fish, both of Holsopple; one full brother, James Cochrane with whom he lived in West Salisbury, and three half brothers; David Cochrane, Salisbury; Irvin Cochrane, Hawthorne, New Jersey, and Arthur Cochrane, Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Funeral services were conducted in the Thomas Funeral Home at 2 p.m. Tuesday, with the Rev. Ira S. Monn, pastor of St. John's Reformed Church, officiating. Interment was made in the IOOF Cemetery in charge of Mortician Stanley M. Thomas. Meyersdale Republican, December 1, 1949
