  Clarence C. "Cotton" Coddington Sr., 82, Somerset RD 5, died March 19, 1994
  at Somerset Hospital.  Born Feb. 9, 1912 in Friendsville, Md., son of Maurice
  Coddington and Pearl (Griffith) Close.  Preceded in death by parents; wife of
  64 years, the former Magdalene Yoder; son, Maurice Ronald; sister, Irene
  Zerfoss; and stepfather, Albert Close.  Survived by these children: C. Carl
  Jr., Berlin; Robert, Somerset RD 6; Freeman and Wayne, both of Friedens RD
  2; Ray, Somerset RD 5; Jay Boswell; and Kay Fritz, Friedens RD 1; 33
  grandchildren; 58 great-grandchildren and 11 great-great-grandchildren.
  Brother of Alberta Queer, Butte, Mont.; Peggy Ann Williams, Memphis, Tenn.;
  and Fred Close, Somerset RD 5.  Founder and owner of Coddington Lumber
  Company for 65 years.  Member of Calvary United Methodist Church. Social
  member of American Legion Post 295 Stoystown.  Family will receive friends
  from 7-9 p.m. Monday and 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Tuesday at Deaner Funeral Home,
  Stoystown, where service will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday. Rev. Byron K.
  Myers.  Interment, Somerset County Memorial Park.  Memorial contributions may
  be given to the American Heart Association.
