Born March 2, 1921, in Holmes, New York, he was the son of Ethel (Brown) Millar Cole and Everett Ferris Cole, both deceased. He is survived by his wife Marie (Clapper) Cole, of New Castle; one son, Allan R. Cole, Bethelem, Pa., and one daughter, Janice Moseley, of New Castle, and four grandchildren. Mr. Cole was a graduate of Brewster New York High School. He received his BA in Music Education from Juniata College, Huntingdon, and his Masters in Music Education at Vandercook College of Music in Chicago, Ill. He lived for 20 years in New Castle; and had lived in Bridgewater, Virginia, and resided in Salisbury, Pa. for 15 years. Until 1942 he lived in Brewster New York. He was employed by New Castle J. High School and was a former Professor of Music Education at Bridgewater College in Virginia. He was a member of WWII US Army, affiliate radial systems, a member of Mars Representative for Delaware Emergency Operations Center, and a former sections committee manager for Delaware. Mr. Cole was an active member in the New Castle United Methodist Church. Funeral services were held Monday, July 28, at 2 p.m. in the Spicer - Mullikan Funeral Home, New Castle, Delaware. Interment, Tuesday, July 29, 2 p.m. at the Milltown Rural Cemetery, Brewster. In his memory, contributions to the New Castle United Methodist Church, Fifth and Delaware Avenue, New Castle, Delaware would be appreciated. The Republic, July 31, 1986 [C0662]
