Born June 23, 1899, in Brothersvalley Township, son of Henry Franklin and Mary Jane (Kimmel) Coleman. Preceded in death by parents; his wife, the former Mabel Hentz in 1980; brothers, Oscar and Franklin; sisters, Emma Weimer and Mary Coleman; and a grandson, John Alton Coleman. Survived by these children: Mrs. Richard (Emma Grace) Deaner, Berlin RD 3; E. Devon, married to Violet Vought, Somerset RD 1; and John Franklin, married to Anna Belle Beachley, Berlin RD 1; 13 grandchildren and 10 greatgrandchildren. Retired farmer. A member of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church and Men's Adult Bible Class in the Sunday School, Berlin Sportsmen's Association, and honorary member of Valley Grange 878. Friends will be received from 7-9 p.m. Thursday and 2-4 and 7-9 p.m Friday at the Johnson-Kuhlman Funeral Home, where services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, with the Rev. Kenneth S. Swanson officiating. Interment, Berlin I.O.O.F. Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions in his memory to Somerset Community Hospital Education Department (Hospice Unit) would be appreciated.
