J. Christner is in Pittsburgh where she was called last Saturday, following the death of her brother, Edward Coleman, who had been injured a short time previously while in the pursuance of his duty as a freight conductor at Glenwood. His condition did not at first seem serious, but to friends he confided that he believed he was more seriously injured that was apparent, and subsequent developments in his condition caused his death. He had been in the employ of the B. & O. R. R. for many years, at one time making a heroic rescue of two young children trapped on the tracks near Glenwood. Mr. Coleman's fatal injury came about when standing between two trains. A freight car side-slipped and crushed him against a car on the other track. He was married to Mary Humberston, a daughter of Howard Humberston, of Cumberland, Md. The writer of these lines remembers meeting Mr. Coleman on his wedding day in Cumberland, many years back. He is survived by his wife and two children, a son and a daughter. Mrs. Christner will remain in Pittsburgh for a short time to visit relatives. Mr. Christner and daughter, Ula, who accompanied Mrs. Christner to attend the funeral, returned home Tuesday. Meyersdale Republican, December 15, 1932
