Coleman, 87, Hooversville, died May 9, 1997, at Memorial Medical Center, Johnstown. Born Aug. 22, 1909, in Hooversville, son of Orange and Rebecca (Gindlesperger) Coleman. Preceded in death by his wife, the former Mildred (Beam) Mueller, who died in 1993; daughter, Mary Ann Miller, brother, Kenneth Coleman and sister, Elizabeth Lohr. Survived by daughter, Carole, married to the Rev. Clifford Ott, Hooversville RD 1; grandchildren: Kathryn Gallo, Susan Yoder, Nancy Eschrich, Melissa Miller, Bradford, Eric and Jeff Ott, and 8 great-grandchildren. Brother, Ronald Coleman married to the former Iris Custer, Hooversville; son-in-law, Charles K. Miller, Stoystown; also three nephews and two nieces. Graduate of Somerset High School class of 1927. Former partner in C and G Coal Co., school bus driver for North Star Schools, and former Hooversville tax collector and light bill collector. He was a World War II Army veteran, recipient of the Purple Heart for wounds received at the Battle of the Bulge. Member of Trinity Lutheran Church, volunteer fire department and charter member of V.F.W. Post 7565, all of Hooversville. 50-year member of Somerset Lodge 358 F. and A.M. and Portage Royal Arch Chapter 195. Family will receive friends from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Sunday, at Deaner Funeral Home, Hooversville. Viewing at Hooversville Church of the Brethren from 1:30 p.m. until services at 2:30 p.m. Monday, with the Rev. Harry W. Bassett officiating. Interment, P.O.S. of A. Cemetery, Hooversville.
