Dwight "Coley" Coleman 90, Williamsport, Md., formerly of Friedens, died Dec. 4 2001 at his residence. Born Nov. 25, 1911 in Friedens, son of John P. and Gertrude (Barnhart) Coleman. Preceded in death by parents, brother Harold, sisters: Rachel Dickey, Margaret Bender, Sara Koontz, Elizabeth Lowry, and Lucille Custer. Survived by his wife of 69 years, the former Neoma Hurl, a daughter Patricia married to Karl Pile of Hagerstown, Md., grandchildren, Brian Pile, Karla McSherry, and Kevin Pile, all of Hagerstown, and Denise Pile of Montclair, Va., and four great-grandchildren. Former owner of Coleman Motors, Friedens, for 30 years. Lifetime member of Friedens Lutheran Church. Member of Friedens Volunteer Fire Co., where he served as chief for 16 years, and a former Forest Warden. Member of Somerset Lodge 358 F.&A.M., Harrisburg Consistory, and Jaffa Temple Shrine. He was instrumental in the start of the Somerset Ambulance Service. He was an avid hunter and member of Tall Pines Hunting Camp. Family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at Deaner Funeral Home, Stoystown. Viewing from 10 a.m. until service at 11 a.m. Friday at Friedens Lutheran Church, Rev. Edward V. DeVore officiating. Interment, Church Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be given to Friedens Lutheran Church, Friedens. Pa. 15541. Masonic service will be held at 7:30 p.m. Thursday.
