Coleman, 59 Oaklawn ave., LaVale, Md., died June 5 in Cumberland Memorial Hospital where he was a patient for two weeks. A native of Cumberland, he was a son of the late John H. and Bettie (Walker) Coleman. Mr. Coleman was employed as a mechanic in the engineering department of Celenese Fibers Co. He was a member of LaVale Baptist Church and of Potomac Lodge A.F. and A.M. He is survived by his wife Olive Yost Coleman, formerly of the Meyersdale-Grantsville area; two sons, J. Donald Coleman of Cumberland, and David Coleman of Hagerstown, Md.; a daughter, Mrs. Patricia A. Butler of Sterling, Va.; three brothers, Macon J. and Roy W. Coleman, both of Cumberland and Melvin V., Gettysburg; a sister, Mrs. Allegany Sheehy, Frankfort, Ky., and two grandchildren. Funeral service was held in LaVale Baptist Church. Interment was in Hillcrest Cemetery. Potomac Lodge held a memorial service Tuesday evening at Knight Funeral Home. Meyersdale Republican, June 16, 1966 [C0678]
