Born July 22, 1900, in Meyersdale, the daughter of the late James H. and Emma (Forespring) Cook. Preceded in death by a son. C. Telford "Ted" Coleman; daughter, Miriam E. Coleman; sisters, Maude E. Wiland, Grace Hoch, Edna Sellers, Nettie McClure and Stella Gorby; brothers, William E. Cook and Leroy Cook. Survived by son, Vernon C. Coleman, married to the former Ethelene "Shortee" Tall of Somerset, and daughter-in-law, Mary H. Coleman of Somerset. Five grandsons: James A. Coleman, John C. Coleman, Jeffrey Z. Coleman and Randall C. Coleman, all of Somerset, and Gerald K. Coleman, Pittsburgh; Three great-grandchildren: Kimberly C. Coleman, Jesse M. Coleman and Theresa Coleman. Member of First Christian Church. She had owned and operated the former Cozy Motel and the former Loralann Motel of Somerset and several other commercial properties in Somerset. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the Hauger-Zeigler Funeral Home, where services will be conducted at I p.m. Friday, the Rev. William J. Sleasman officiating.
