Born Sept. 21, 1912 in Lancaster, the daughter of Martin L. and Mary E. (Lee) Hurl. Preceded in death by parents; her husband of 69 years, John Dwight Coleman (2001); brothers, Emory and Raymond Hurl and sisters, Myrtle Davis and Betty Heckler. Survived by her daughter, Patricia, married to Karl Pile, Hagerstown, Md.; grandchildren Brian Pile and wife Anne, Kevin Pile and wife, Kim, Karla McSherry and husband Tim, all of Hagerstown and Denise Wood and husband Greg, Tampa, Fla.; seven great-grandchildren and a brother Martin L. Hurl, Jr., Rockwood. She and her husband owned and operated the former Coleman Motors of Friedens for 30 years. Prior to this the couple lived in Akron, Ohio where she worked as "Rosey the Riveter" during World War II. She was a member of Friedens Lutheran Church, lifetime member of Lutheran Church Women, Trinity Chapter 138 O.E.S., Friedens Fire Co. auxiliary, Friedens Homemakers, and the Daughters of the American Revolution. Family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday at Deaner Funeral Home, Stoystown, with O.E.S. service at 2 p.m. and on Monday from noon until 1 p.m. the time of service, at Friedens Lutheran Church.
