Born Nov. 23, 1937, in Confluence, the son of George Wesley Colflesh, Confluence, and the late Esther Knotter Colflesh. Married January 31, 1959, to Ala Mae McGlothlin. Survived by his father; children: Gerald Colflesh Jr., Boyce, La.; Sherri Kay Cornett (Wesley), Boyce; Gina Coutee (J.C.), Derry, La.; and Paul Randall Colflesh (Stacy), Leesville, La.; grandchildren: Amanda and Vanessa Colflesh, Ryan Martin, Jay Jr., Summer, Josie, and Alexis Coutee, and Kirsten, and Madison Colflesh; great-grandchildren, Tre and Dre Price, and Caleb Martin. Brother of Paul H. Colflesh (Betty), Betty Ohler Mancini, both of Confluence, and Carol Collins, Somerset. Nephew of Helen Knotter, Somerset; Wilma Deist, Confluence; Viola Colflesh Bowser, Oakland, Md., and Maude Colflesh Kreger, Somerset. Also survived by a host of nieces, nephews, and other family and friends. Jerry retired as a tech sergeant from the U.S. Air Force after more than 21 years of service, including a year in the Vietnam Conflict, and 18 months in the Philippines. He also served many TDY terms in Turkey, Greece, and Germany. He was a member of the Habibi Shrine club and the Gordy Masonic Lodge 133, Lecompte, La. He was also a notary republic. Funeral services were held Aug. 22, 2004, in the Chapel of Hixson Brothers, Alexandria, La. Burial with full military honors by the Alexandria/Pineville Veterans Honor Guard in Flatwoods Cemetery. 08/24/2004 Daily American
