  Ruth (Baldwin) Combecker, 84, died Aug. 27, 2006, in Berlin. Born Oct. 22,
  1921, in Gray. Predeceased by her husband, James M. Combecker to whom she was
  married for 41 years, mother, Goldie (Friedline) Baldwin Weyand, father Charles
  Frederick Baldwin and step-father, Nelson Weyand. Survived by daughter, Nancy
  Combecker Merrill and husband, William, Berlin; grandchildren, Heather
  McCauley, Berlin, Kristina Brick and husband, Delmas, Hagerstown, Md., Gerren
  Wagner and husband, Daymond, Harrisburg, and William J. Merrill, Montezuma,
  Colo.; and five great-grandchildren, Brogan McCauley, Jordan, Riley and Olivia
  Brick and Arlo Wagner. Ruth was a graduate of the Windber School of Nursing.
  She was known for her ability to find humor even in unlikely situations and was
  the best mother and grand- mother on the planet. She spent most of her adult
  life in the field as a registered nurse in many areas of the United States and
  overseas. The family requests memorial donations be made to Somerset In
  Touch Hospice, 1590 North Center Ave., Somerset, PA 15501. Friends and
  relatives are welcome to a memorial service being held at 1 p.m. Sept. 4 at the
  residence of Nancy and William Merrill, 151 Silverleaf Drive, Berlin, Pa. 15530.
