JOSEPH COMMOTES

  Joseph Commotes, Sr., 82, retired coal miner, died Thursday, July 26, at his 
home at Garrett, R.D.  He was born in Austria on Feb. 28, 1863, and came to 
America many years ago.
  His wife, Mrs. Helen Commotes, died in 1943.  Surviving are four children: 
Mrs. Tony Estnick, Garrett R.D.; Mrs. Harold Moyer, Somerset; Mrs. Robert Steel, 
Fairmont, W.Va., and Joseph, Jr., Garrett, R.D.  Eight grandchildren also 
survive.
  Funeral services were conducted at 10 o'clock, Monday morning in SS. Philip & 
James Catholic Church, Meyersdale, by Rev. Father H. J. Houghton.  Interment was 
made in the Meyersdale Cemetery under the direction of Johnson & Son, Berlin.
