  COMPTON
  
  Raymond Stanley Compton, 92, of Meyersdale, formerly of Cumberland, Md.,
  and Markleton, died March 4, 1997, in Meyersdale Manor.  Born Nov. 7, 1904,
  on Meyersdale RD 4.  A son of the late Charles and Effie (Mankamyer)
  Compton.  Also preceded in death by his wife, the former Erma L.
  Tressler.  Survived by these children: Leonard B. Compton, Markleton RD 1;
  Idella M. Kennell, Somerset, and Joyce I. Storer, Hagerstown, Md.  Also 6
  grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren.  Two sisters: Rosalie Crosby,
  Berlin, and Madlyn Bittner, Corriganville, Md.  Retired track supervisor
  for the Western Maryland Railroad.  At the request of Mr. Compton, there
  will be no public visitation.  A private family service will be conducted
  at the Price Funeral Home, Meyersdale, with Pastor John Snyder
  officiating.  Interment, White Oak Cemetery.
