  COMPTON
  
  Ruth A. Compton, 85, Salisbury RD 1, died Feb. 24, 1986, Sacred Heart
  Hospital, Cumberland.  Born July 26, 1900, in Meyersdale, daughter of the
  late David and Sarah (Braugher) Bowman.  Also preceded in death by two
  brothers, Edgar and David Bowman.  Survived by her husband, Allen Compton;
  six daughters: Mrs. Mary Ruth Klotz, Fort Lauderdale, Fla.; Mrs. Martha
  Jane Beachy of Star Route, Springs; Mrs. Elaine Tozian, Flushing, N.Y.;
  Mrs. Adeline Nestor, Petersburg, W.Va.; Mrs. Nancy Brenneman, Meyersdale RD
  1; and Mrs. S. Elizabeth Nicholson, Meyersdale; also one son, Emmett Allen
  Compton of Dublin, Ireland; two sisters: Mrs. Estelle Houston, Hockesson,
  Del.; and Mrs. Mary Jane Walker, Meyersdale; 12 grandchildren and three
  great-grandchildren.  She was a member of the Meyersdale Grace Brethren
  Church; a member of the Fifth Society of Farm Women; a former organist at
  the Main Street Brethren Church, Meyersdale; and a former employee of the
  Second National Bank, Meyersdale.  Friends will be received Thursday 7-9
  p.m. and Friday 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the Thomas Funeral Home, Salisbury. 
  Funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Saturday at the Grace Brethren Church
  with the Rev. Ron Warrick and Walter M. Fike officiating.  Interment,
  Salisbury Cemetery.  The body will lie in state at the church Saturday, 1
  p.m., until time of service.  In lieu of flowers, family requests memorials
  to the Grace Brethren Church.
