"Red" Conn, 73, Akron, Ohio, died Sept. 8, 1984, at his residence following a long illness. Born in Somerset County, the son of James and Tillie (Sheeler) Conn. He lived in the Akron area the past 25 years. Mr. Conn was employed for 15 1/2 years at Akron University, retiring in 1974. Member of the Ellet Grace Brethren Church. Survived by wife of 50 years, Althea; children: Harry Jr., Doylestown, Ohio; Hazel Speicher, Rittman, Ohio; and Homer, Wadsworth, Ohio; seven grandchildren; brother, Wilson Conn, Hopewell, Pa.; sisters: Marie Miller, Hattie Conn and Ivy Thompson, all of Somerset; Jenny Wikham, Buffalo, N.Y.; and Pearl Uphouse, Suffield, Ohio. Funeral services Tuesday at 11 a.m. at the Ellet Grace Brethren Church, 530 Stetler Ave., with the Rev. Richard E. Bell officiating. Burial, Hillcrest Memorial Gardens, Wadsworth, Ohio.
