Carn., 58, of the New Baltimore Carmalite Monastery, died May 14, 1975, in Dubuque, Iowa. Born May 4, 1917, in Boston, Mass., son of Patrick Joseph and Marjorie (McLaughlin) Connors. Preceded in death by father and two brothers. Survived by mother in Somerville, Mass. Brother of Henry, Medford, Mass. In preparation for the priesthood he attended the Society of Divine Word Seminary in Teckney, Ill., from 1936 to 1939. Completed his college work at Mt. Carmel College of Niagra Falls, Ontario, Canada, in 1941. Theological studies Whitefrairs Hall, Washington, D.C. Professed at the Carmalite Novitiate, New Baltimore, Aug. 15, 1940. Ordination in Chicago, May 27, 1944. Teacher and rector at the Carmalite Junior Seminary of Hamilton, Mass., from 1945 to 1954. Novice master and prior at New Baltimore, 1954-1966. Retreat director and prior at the Carmel Retreat House at Mahwah, N.J., 1966-1970. Director of Carmalite House of Prayer, New Baltimore, 1970-1974. Was student for advanced studies at Aquinas Institute of Theology at Dubuque, Iowa, until his death. Concelebrated mass will be offered Saturday, May 17, at 3 p.m. at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, New Baltimore, with Rev. Father Robert C. Flaherty, O. Carm., principal celebrant. Interment New Baltimore church cemetery.
