  Betty Lou Conrad, 79, Somerset, died Aug. 20, 2006 at home. Born Aug. 7, 1927
  in Shanksville, daughter of Clinton and Ruth (Baldwin) Christner. Preceded in
  death by parents; first husband, Fred Woodrow Knupp, who died Oct. 24, 1974;
  brothers, Edwin, Gene and infant brother Billie Christner; sisters, Mary
  Wambaugh and Evelyn Hillegass. Survived by husband, James Samuel Conrad to whom
  she was married for 26 years; children; Mrs. Carl (Linda) Mostoller, Somerset;
  Mrs. Reanzo (Patty) Thompson, Somerset; Jay Knupp married to the former
  Kathleen Tocco, Crescent; stepsons, William E. Conrad married to the former Sue
  Ketterman, Fredericksburg, Va.; James S. Conrad Jr. married to the former
  Christine Virgili, Waynesburg; 16 grandchildren and seven great-grand-children.
  Also survived by sister, Mrs. Dwight (Marjorie) Maust, Berlin and sister-in-law,
  Mrs. Rena Yoder, Somerset. A 1943 graduate of Shanksville Stonycreek High
  School. She worked as a cashier for 21 years for the former Foodlane retiring
  in 1984. Also a member of the Ladies Auxiliaries of VFW Post 554 and American
  Legion Post 181. Friends received 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the
  Hauger-Zeigler Funeral Home, Somerset, where a service will be conducted 10
  a.m. Wednesday with the Rev. Gerald E. Deffenbaugh officiating. Interment
  Somerset County Memorial Park.
