Conrad, 81, Windber died April 29, 2001 at Windber Medical Center. Born Aug. 8, 1919 in Johnstown. Daughter of Milton W. and Ida Mae (Boyer) Graham. Preceded in death by parents, husband George "Cooney" Conrad in 1989, brothers Earl W., Roy E., and Milton L., and sisters Hazel M. Owens, Vera M. Foster, Erma Lee Moore, and Olive I. Wiand. Survived by daughter, the Rev. Valerie Conrad-Dembinsky, wife of Daniel D. Dembinsky, Windber, pastor of Faith UMC, Ideal Park area, and associate pastor Beulah UMC, Dale. Sister in-law of Margaret Stevens, Windber. She was the last member of her immediate family. Also survived by special dogs Krystal and Buddy. Mrs. Conrad was past matron of Order of Amaranth Cambria Court 29, past Watchman of Shepherds, White Shrine of Jerusalem (formerly Decapolis Shrine 29), and past president of Mary's and Martha's at Calvary UMC, Windber. Former department manager for former W.T. Grant Co., and Eureka Store, both of Windber. Member of Calvary UMC, Windber, where service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, the Rev. Gary Grau, pastor, assisted by daughter of the deceased. Interment, Berkey Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday and from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at Meek Funeral Home Inc., Windber and from 10 a.m. Friday until time of service at 11 a.m. Those who Wish may make contributions to the Calvary UMC, in memory of Mrs. Conrad.
