Sr. 06/18/05 Daily American John A. Conzatti Sr., 68, Jerome died June 16, 2005, at UPMC Presbyterian Hospital, Pittsburgh. Born Aug. 11, 1936, in Ralphton, son of John and Anna (Revaj) Conzatti. Preceded in death by parents; brother, Charles; father and mother-in-law, Arthur and Jenny Gowarty; and sister-in-law, Alberta "Bucky" (Begley) Gowarty. Survived by wife of 47 years, the former Blanche Gowarty; children, John Jr., Hollsopple; and Kimberly, married to Michael Formica, Fort Hood, Texas; and seven grandchildren, Tim, Shawn and Angel Conzatti, and Anthony, Nicholas, Alyssa and John Formica. Also survived by sister, Ann, married to Donald Smith, Jerome; sister-in-law Rose (Galish) Conzatti, Hollsopple; and brothers-in-law Arthur, Thomas and Wayne Gowarty, Jenners; Bernard Gowarty, Boswell; and Edward Gowarty, married to the former Pat Ewing, Jerome. Also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. A member of St. Anne Catholic Church, Davidsville. A 1955 graduate of Conemaugh Township Area High School. A U.S. Navy veteran, who served on the USS New Jersey from 1955 to 1957. Employed for 42 years by Conzatti's Italian Store, Richland, and was co-owner of Conzatti's Restaurant in Boswell. A member of the Jerome Post 802, American Legion, Jerome Nest 556, Polish Falcons of America, Jerome Sportsmen; Jenner Rod and Gun Club, New Baltimore Sportsmen Association and the Johnstown Metropolitan Bowling Association. An avid fisherman, hunter, bowler and pinochle player. He loved to laugh and will be dearly missed by his many family members and friends. Viewing from 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday at the Hoffman Funeral Home & Creation Services, Davidsville, where vigil for the deceased will be held Sunday afternoon. Funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Anne Church, Davidsville. The Rev. Father Michael Lewandowski, OFM, Conv., celebrant. Committal, Holy Cross Cemetery.
