(Harsh) Cook, well known Glencoe resident, died Saturday evening, April 21, at her home in Glencoe. She was born in Eglon, W.Va., February 24, 1874. She was aged 71 years, 1 month and 27 days. Mrs. Cook had been ill only a few days; her death was sudden and brought sadness and sorrow to the community who will miss her very much. She was married December 26, 1897, to George H. Cook, by whom she is survived. To this union six children were born, all of whom survive. They are: Harry and Julia, at home; Clyde, Johnstown; Walter, Glencoe; Lloyd, Meyersdale, and Margaret, Bethany, Ky. Her father, Lloyd E. Harsh, of Eglon, W.Va., is still living and though 93 years old and feeble, was able to attend the funeral services. She is also survived by six brothers: George of Michigan; Nelson, Jess, Lester, Ira, and John of Eglon, W.Va., and three sisters, Mrs. Stella Feathers, Mrs. Martha Howser, Mrs. Gertrude Snyder. Fourteen grandchildren also survive. Funeral services were held in the Glencoe Evangelical Church, of which Mrs. Cook was a charter member and official, Tuesday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock. Rev. Harry B. Greer, pastor, officiated, assisted by Rev. W. M. West, Westover, Pa., a former pastor, and Rev. H. V. Keyer, pastor of the First Church of the Nazarene, Johnstown. Interment was made in the Mt. Lebanon Cemetery under the direction of Johnson & Son, Berlin. Meyersdale Republican, April 26, 1945
