Cook, Cumberland, Md., formerly of Salisbury, died Dec. l7, 1982, at Meyersdale Community Hospital. She was born in Salisbury, and was a daughter of the late Frank F. and Zourie (Lichty) Petry. She was preceded in death by her husband, Dr. J. Russell Cook. She is survived by her sister, Mrs. John M. (Mary) Dunn, Salisbury; two step children, Mrs. Robert (Connie) Emken, Winston Salem, N.C., and James R. Cook, San Jose, Calif.; also six step-grandchildren; and two step-great-grandchildren. Prior to her marriage she was a teacher at Salisbury High School; Beall High School, Frost burg. Md., and a member of the faculty at Frostburg State College. She received her baccalaureate degree from Hood College, Frederick, Md., and a master's degree from the University of Maryland, College Park. She was a member of the United Methodist Church, Frostburg. She also held membership in the following organizations: Cresap Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution, Cumberland; the Allegany County, Md., Retired Teachers Association; the Frostburg Chapter of the American Association of University Women; and Delta Kappa Gamma. Friends were received at the Thomas Funeral Home, Salisbury, where funeral services were held with the Rev. John Bayley Jones officiating. Interment, Salisbury Cemetery.
