Born in Hyndman RD 1, on March 23, 1902, he was the son of the late J. Howard and Annabelle (Rizer) Cook. He was a retired machinist for Celanese Fibers Company. He was treasurer of the Ellerslie Citizens Committee and active in the Ellerslie United Methodist Church. He also was a member of the Ellerslie Athletic Assoc., Ellerslie Volunteer Fire Department and the Ellerslie Outdoor Club. He is survived by his widow, Bertha B. (Cook) Cook; a daughter, Mrs. Gloria J. Matthews, Ellerslie; three brothers, Paul E. Cook, Hyndman; Robert C. Cook and Thomas F. Cook, both of Hyndman RD 1, and two grandchildren. Friends were received at the Harvey H. Zeigler Funeral Home, Hyndman, where a service was conducted by the Rev. Dennis Dorsch and the Rev. David Reed. Interment will be in Sunset Memorial Garden. Pallbearers were Frank Ford, Cletus Moyer, Ralph Devore, Richard Close, Arthur Miller, Clifton Close and Earl Nonnenmann. The Republic, September 17, 1981 [C0885]
