     Guy A. Cook Jr., 90, Garrett, passed away  Dec. 8, 2007, at Meyersdale Medical Center.
  Born Oct. 7, 1917, in Garrett, son of the  late Guy and Nita (Shaffer) Cook. Survived  by
  wife of 60 years, Wilma (Judy) Cook. Also survived by a sister, Doris W., wife of Paul
  Zimmerman, Hyndman ; sisters-in-law,  Alice R. Cook, Rocky  Mount, N.C. and  Elizabeth
  Judy, Garrett;  a brother-in-law, Norval  Hoover, Garrett;  and various nieces and
  nephews.  Guy was a 1935 graduate of Meyersdale High School  and a graduate of California
  State Teacher's College.  He taught school in the Garrett Elementary School  for
  approximately nine  years. He served in the U.S.  Army, stationed overseas for three
  years in the South  West Pacific, Australia, New Guinea and the Philippines. He later
  joined the staff of First National Bank  Of Garrett. After 40 years of service with the 
  bank, he retired with the position of executive vice  president and cashier. He was past
  president of the Somerset County Banker's Association.  He was a member of Mount Tabor
  Lutheran  Church, where he served on the church council for many years. Also a member of
  the Meyersdale  F&AM Lodge 554 and the American Legion and  the Veterans of Foreign Wars.
  Guy will be sadly  missed by family and friends. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and
  7 to 9 p.m. Monday at  the M. Ray Leckemby Funeral Home, Meyersdale,  where funeral
  service will be conducted at 11 a.m.  Tuesday. Pastor Glenn Foster and Pastor Ken Davis
  officiating. Interment, Highland Cemetery,  Garrett. Masonic service 7 p.m. Monday at
  the  funeral home. Family suggests contributions be made to Mount Tabor Lutheran
  Church,  Garrett, PA  15542.
