"Buck" Cook, 81, Somerset, formerly of Glencoe and Dawson, passed on Sept. 6, 2006, at Meadow View Nursing Center in Berlin. Born Nov. 23, 1924, in Glencoe, he is the son of the late Harry C. and Emma J. (Perdew) Cook. He is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Martha Jane Cook in 1990; and sister, Genevieve Cook. He is survived by his daughter, Christine, married to Ben Wilson, Dawson; son Calvin Cook, married to Gail, Sipesville; grandchildren, Jared, Justin, Jason and Jacob Wilson; great-grandchildren, Brenna and Austin Wilson; and sister, Pauline Gnagey, married to Paul, Meyersdale. He was a retired employee of the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation and worked out of the Uniontown Division. He is a veteran of the U.S. Army in World War II in the Asiatic-Pacific Theatre. He was a member of the American Legion Post 13 in Cumberland and the Kennell's Mills and Barrelville, Md. Sportsmen's Clubs. He was an avid sportsman who loved to hunt and fish. Friends will be received from 10 a.m. until the time of service at 2 p.m. Saturday at Miller Funeral Home, Somerset. The Rev. Charles Prevot and the Rev. Thomas Zimmerman officiating.
