Cook was born March 8, 1915, in Meyersdale. He was the son of the late Charles Cook and Laura Alice (Boyer) Cook. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Leota A. Cook, in 1987; one son, Donald R. Cook, in 1994; two grandchildren, Catherine Cook and Danelle Gilbert; and one great-grandchild, Jordon Worrell. Cook is survived by two daughters: Shirley Kline and husband, Dorcil, Bedford; and Sharon Bardell and special friend, Kevin Friend, Ellerslie, Md.; one brother, Harold Cook, Cumberland, Md.; one sister, Nellie Dom; 10 grandchildren: Kevin Kline, Dorcil Kline III, Shannon Kline, Jeffrey Kline, Donald J. Cook, Kimberly Worrell, Sandra Yoder, Brenda Cook, Crystal Bardell and Brandon Bardell; and seven great-grandchildren: Jennifer Kline, Nathan Kline, Abrienna Gilbert, Benjamin Cook, Betsy Jo Yoder, Lindsey Yoder and Jamie Glad. Cook was retired from the Celanese Fiber Corporation of America. Friends were received Sept. 21 at the Merritt-Adams Funeral Home in Cumberland.
