Born Nov. 20, 1913, in Hooversville, daughter of Herbert and Mary (Brubaker) Shaffer. Preceded in death by parents, and sisters Eugenia Shaffer and Leah Shaffer Doyle. Survived by her husband of 67 years Harry A.; sister Lois Litzinger, Hooversville; nephew Mike Litzinger and wife Carol of Erie; and great nieces and nephew: Heidi Staib, Beth Kuna, Gretchen Connors, Mary Helsley, and Randy Litzinger. Received B.S. degree from Indiana University of Pa., and M.S. degree from University of Pittsburgh. She taught for 44 years in the Shade Township school system, having served in schools in Wilbur, Cairnbrook and Central City. Member of Hooversville Church of the Brethren, and Hooversville Area Historical Society. Family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at Deaner Funeral Home, 976 Barn St., Hooversville, where a service will be held at 2:30 p.m. Saturday. The Rev. John Eash officiating.
