Costea, 76, of Somerset, died Oct. 21, 2003, in Somerset Hospital. Born Jan. 24, 1927, in Somerset, he is the son of the late George H. and Matilda (Miller) Costea. Also preceded in death by stepfather, James Galico; brother, George Costea; sisters, Pauline Slingwine, Genevieve "Jenny" Gabrys. Survived by his wife, Marjorie (Kreger) Costea to whom he was married for 50 years; children: Brian Scott Costea and wife Pam of Somerset, Nikki Whitmer of N. Conway, S.C., Jill Huff and husband Chris of Chantilly, Va., Steven Costea and wife Beth of Somerset and Janine Stover and husband Ken of Freeport. Grandchildren, Brian and Becky Costea, Erie and Emily Costea, Scott and Adam Huff and step grandchildren: Josh, Nick and Ashley Stover; brother, Fred J. Costea of Somerset; step sister, Ethel Pletcher of Markleton and step brother, James "Bud" Galieo of Rockwood. Also several nieces and nephews. Member of First Christian Church where he served as an Elder and Deacon. Director and Treasurer of Husband Cemetery for 11 years. Co-owner and meat manager of Edgewood Market for 44 years. Honorary member of Somerset Volunteer Fire Department. Army veteran of World War II as a paratrooper with over 100 jumps. Friends received 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday in the Robert H. Halverson Funeral Home where service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday with Rev. Daniel Nickish and Rev. John Barchay officiating. Interment in Somerset County Memorial Park. Contributions may be made to First Christian Church, 139 E. Main St., Somerset, Pa. 15501.
