ELIZA COUGHENOUR

  Mrs. Eliza Coughenour, 81, died Thursday, March 3, at the home of her 
daughter, Mrs. Charles Mowry of Fairhope R.D.  Her husband, James H. Coughenour, 
died 12 years ago.  A daughter of Dennis and Rebecca (Leydig) Kennel, she was 
born on June 9, 1862.  Surviving are eight children - Mrs. Mowry, above 
mentioned; Mrs. John Hillegass, Salisbury; Mrs. Herman Mowry, Manns Choice; Roy, 
Green Spring, W.Va.; George, Uniontown; Merle, Salisbury, and Harry and Lester, 
both at home.  She also left a sister, Miss Mary Kennel, Wellersburg, and 30 
grandchildren and 26 great-grandchildren.
  Funeral services were conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday in the Pleasant Ridge United 
Brethren Church, Bedford County, by Rev. M. L. Witt.  Interment in the church 
cemetery, directed by Johnson & Son, morticians of Berlin.
