Born in Fairhope and was a resident of Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio area for 40 years. Survived by wife of 42 years, the former Ella Mae Platt; daughter and son-in-law, Bonnie and William Eckley; grandson, Scot Vaughan of U.S. Marine Corp, Okinawa; sisters, Mae Burkett, Maryland; Romaine Keller, Somerset; sister and brother-in-law, Pearl and Paul Engleka, Fairhope; brother, Ira, Fairhope; brother and sister-in-law, Walter and Eunice, Maryland. Retired as parts manager from Wallace Oldsmobile and served in the Army Air Corp during World War II. Member St. Luke's Lutheran Church. Friends will be received from 2-3 and 7-9 p.m. Monday at the McGowan-Reid & Santos Funeral Home in Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio. Service will be Tuesday at 11 a.m. in St. Luke's Lutheran Church.
