  HILDA COUGHENOUR
  
  Hilda Coughenour, 71, Salisbury RD 1, died Sept. 2, 1982, at Shadyside
  Hospital, Pittsburgh.	
  She was born March 31, 1911, in Meyersdale, and was a daughter of the
  late Dennis and Catherine (Miller) Knieriem.  She is survived by her
  husband, Merle Sr.; and these children: Merle Jr., Dover, Del.; James D.,
  Friedens; William H. and Richard D., both of Salisbury RD 1; Joseph D.,
  Meyersdale; Mrs. Marjorie Shuck, Gaithersburg, Md.; Mrs. Shirley Davis,
  Largo, Md.; Mrs. Patricia Rickley, Gary, N. C.; Mrs. Deborah Spangler,
  Jennerstown; 20 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.  She was a
  sister of Robert Knieriem, Meyersdale, and Harry, Johnstown.  She was a
  member of Amity United Church of Christ.  The death ended a marriage of 50
  years.
  Friends were received in the Leckemby Funeral Home.  Services were held
  at the Amity United Church of Christ at 2 p.m., Monday with the Rev. Joseph
  Beer officiating.  Interment, Union Cemetery.
