Coughenour, 88, of Main Street, Berlin, died June 9, 1979 in Somerset Community Hospital. Born Jan. 17, 1891 in Somerset County, he was the son of the late Samuel and Amanda (Ross) Coughenour. He was preceded in death by two daughters, two brothers, and five sisters. He is survived by his wife, the former Ethel Egolf and these children: Mrs. Herman (Gladys) Grenke of Fairhope RD 1; Mrs. Richard (Helen) Spangler of Somerset RD 2; Mrs. Robert (Elma) Felton of New Baltimore; Mrs. Ray (Maude) Kimmel of Berlin RD 1; Mrs. Vaughn (Mary) Lehman of Adelphi, Md.; Melvin of Danville; Kenneth of Jerome; Wayne of Meyersdale; Sam of Frostburg, Md.; also 27 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren. He was a brother of Roy of Fairhope; and Mrs. Elwood (Sara) Leister of Glencoe. He was a member of the Berlin Brethren Church. Friends were received at the Johnson-Kuhlman Funeral Home, Berlin, where services were held with the Rev. Ralph E. Mills and the Rev. Leonard Day officiating. Interment, Mt. Zion Cemetery.
