Born Dec. 1, 1898, in Fairhope Township, son of John and Tillie (Platt) Coughenour. Preceded in death by parents; wife, the former Viola Mae Miller, who died in 1940; daughter Helen; sister, Margaret; brothers, Edgar, Fred, Verl and Lee. Survived by these children: Karl M., married to former Betty J. Sipe, Hollsopple RD 1; Barby Lou, wife of James Webreck, Berlin RD 3, and Donald J., married to the former Carol Ann Stuffier, Binghamton, N.Y.; 11 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren. Retired mine foreman from former Hillman Coal and Coke Co., Jerome. Oldest resident of Jerome. Last member of immediate family. Friends received from 7 to 9 p.m. Monday and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the Hoffman Funeral Home, Main St., Boswell, where service will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Pastors Pat and Chris Ramsay officiating.
