Coughenour, 55, of Johnstown, died Nov. 23, 2003 at Select Specialty Hospital. Born April 10, 1948 in Johnstown daughter of Dick and Edna (Pebley) Foust. Survived by parents, Davidsville; husband of 34 years, Thomas Coughenour and son Ben married to the former Kim Walker, Durnham, N.C. Sister of Richard and wife Glenda, Flagstaff, Ariz. and William (Bill) and wife Rekiko, Winston-Salem, N.C. Also survived by their families. She was a 1966 graduate of Conemaugh Township Area High School and of Penn State University. Sallie worked endlessly to enrich the lives of those she touched. She did this as a wife, mother, teacher of chemistry and math at North Star Schools, and in various positions within the Christian Church throughout her life. Her role as Primary Sunday School Leader at Bethel United Methodist Church in Hollsopple was very satisfying to her. She enjoyed, helping people of all ages and seemed to always find time to do it. Family receiving friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday and 5 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the George E. Mason Funeral Home Inc., Davidsville. Remains will lie in state from 9 a.m. until time of funeral service at 10 a.m. Friday at Bethel United Methodist Church, Hollsopple. Rev. Rob Hernan and John Timm officiating.
