Coughenour, 97, Carlisle, and formerly of Rockwood, Somerset County, and Baltimore, passed away May 8, 2006, at the Church of God Home, Carlisle. She was born Feb. 11, 1909, in Glady, W.Va. to the late Irvin and Bessie Walters Miller. She is predeceased by her husband Harold, who died in 1979; and a sister, Kathryn Leaphart. She is survived by a daughter, Joanne Nyberg and husband, Donald N., Carlisle; and a son, Clyde and his wife, Lorraine, Woodbridge, Va.; seven grandchildren, Scott Nyberg and Kristen Gerber, Carlisle; Clyde Coughenour Jr., Springfield, Va.; James Coughenour, Stafford Va.; Lynda Burns, Stafford, Va., Sue Hamilton, Glen Burnie, Md.; and Holly Cox, Salt Lake City, Utah; and nine great-grandchildren. Virginia lived in Rockwood, moved to Baltimore, where she lived for many years before return- ing to Carlisle. She was a homemaker and a Methodist by faith. A graveside service will be held 1 p.m. Monday at in the Odd Fellows Cemetery, Rockwood. In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorial contributions be made to the Church of God Home, 801 N. Hanover St., Carlisle, PA 17013. Arrangements are being handled by the Hollinger Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., 501 N. Baltimore Ave., Mount Holly Springs, PA 17065.
