Born March 9, 1920, in Swedon, Missouri. Son of Luther and Ada (Bowser) Countryman. Preceded in death by parents; sister, Altha Spencer, and brother Chester Countryman. Survived by wife, the former Arlene Winifred Bruner, to whom he was married 49 years; children: Mrs. Edward E. (Judith) Schrock, Somerset RD 4; Roy L. Countryman, married to the former Betty Hostetler, Somerset RD 4; Ms. Linda S. Hockenberry, Somerset RD 6; Mrs. Donald A. (Nancy) Weigle, Somerset RD 4, and Ms. Joyce I. Countryman, Somerset RD 6; stepson, James D. Bruner, married to the former Nancy Armstrong, Somerset RD 4. Also 10 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren. Brother of Mrs. Ruth Dobbs, Madera, Calif. Member of Mt. Zion Lutheran Church, Bakersville. Army veteran of World War II. Retired in 1982 from PennDOT with 21 years of service. Was a self-employed Jefferson Township farmer. Friends received from 7 to 9 Wednesday and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the Hauger-Zeigler Funeral Home, where services will he conducted at 10 a.m. Friday, with the Rev. George F.
