Countryman, 75, Somerset RD 4, died May 11, 1987, at Somerset Community Hospital. Born Jan. 20, 1912, in Jefferson Township, son of the late Roy and Stella (Gerhard) Countryman. Also preceded in death by infant brother; sisters, Anna Larmer and Carrie Smock. Survived by his wife, the former Mary Louise Kubina; a foster son, Louis H. Close, Somerset RD 4. Member of St. Peter's Roman Catholic Church, former Jefferson Township Supervisor for 18 years, former Jefferson Township secretary-treasurer for 16 years, member of F.O.E. Aerie #1801, former director of the Somerset Farm Bureau Co-op. Veteran of the U.S. Army. Friends received 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Wednesday in the Hauger-Zeigler Funeral Home. Mass of Christian Burial Thursday at 10 a.m. in St. Peter's Catholic Church, Monsignor Samuel Tomaselli officiating. Interment, Somerset County Memorial Park.
