Countryman of Iowa City, Iowa, formerly of Lavansville, died Sept. 19, 1974, in St. Luke's Hospital, Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Born in Somerset a daughter of the late John and Margaretta (Coleman) Countryman. Survived by one sister, Miss Elizabeth Countryman of Iowa City, Iowa, and several cousins. She graduated from the University of Northern Iowa, Iowa State University at Ames, Iowa, and received her masters degree in home economics from Columbia University, New York City. She taught in Chadron Teachers College, Chadron, Neb., Springfield Teachers College, Springfield, S.D., and in the Chicago public schools. Member of St. Paul's United Church of Christ, Somerset. Friends will be received after 7 p.m. Monday (today) in the Robert H. Halverson Funeral Home where services will be conducted Wednesday at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Richard H. Shellenberger officiating.
